The Last student from 1999 Student Uprising imprisoned in an IRI jail in Karaj - Behrouz Javid Tehrani - has issued a statement in Persian which says “IRI regime cannot be reformed. Those who still think so are fooled by and belong to the Regime. He is also asking Iranians to finish the job they started on 18 Tir 1378 (July 9 1999).”
Additionally, Ahmad Batebi who held up a bloodied T-Shirt of a fellow student in 1999 revolt, and, thereafter, went through 9 years of both physical and psychological abuse and often torture in Prison by the Mullahs’ regime, is said to have escaped Iran, recently arriving in USA - VOA Press Release
I hope the International Community is actively supportive of Iranians looking to free themselves of the abominable and bloodthirsty Mullahs, and does not forget this very significant struggle which began 9 years ago.

“Ahead of 18 Tir Anniversary, the Islamic Regime has begun to arrest many student activists. In Mashhad at least 5 students have been arrested and imprisoned so far as reported. It is said that even the families of those arrested are being threatened. There have also been a number of arrests in Tehran so far.”

گرامیداشت 18 تیر در زندانهای رژیم
انتشار: فعالین حقوق بشر و دمکراسی در ایران
یکبار دیگر 18 تیر فرا رسید.یکبار دیگر جوانان ایرانزمین باید خویش را محک زده و نشان دهند که حکومت ملایان خواست آنها نمی باشد.
مردم ایران ،جوانان ،دانشجویان،کارگران و زنان با اراده آهنین نشان خواهند داد حکومت ملایان در نزد ایشان هیچگونه اعتبار و مشروعیتی ندارد.
در اعتراض نسبت به تشدید سرکوب دانشجویان دستگیری و شکنجه دادن و هتک نوامیس ، ستاره دار کردن و اخراج از دانشگاه
لذا ما زندانیان سیاسی ضمن گرامیداشت 18 تیر 1378 روز قیام دانشجویان علیه استبداد را پاس داشته و به نشانۀ احترام به قیام آزادیخواهانه دانشجویان با دیگر زندانیان سیاسی تصمیم گرفتیم در روز 18 تیر 1387 خورشیدی از خوردن و نوشیدن امتناع کرده تا حداقل قلب خویش را راضی نماییم که اگر امسال با شما هم قدم نشدیم حداقل تمام روز قلب و ذهن ما با شما بوده است. ضمنان راس ساعت 20:00 همان روز به نشانه احترام به جانباختگان این قیام درسلولهای خود 3 دقیقه اعلام سکوت خواهیم کرد.

I haven’t heard anything as yet, except a few demonstrations were started but as the regime anticipates this big event, IRI has been taking preventative actions. First by arresting many student activists and leaders and secondly by swiftly dispersing any gatherings. As I had mentioned above, IRI has even threatened family members of quite a number of student activists and leaders. A number have been arrested and nothing is known as yet about their whereabouts.
I think any demonstrations in Iran, given the climate, must have a surprise element and not be publicized out in the open.
